Meikle Tòir The Original is the peated single malt from GlenAllachie, a 5 year old bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit is peated to 35ppm, using mainland peat from St. Fergus, which tends to taste sweeter than coastal peat. The peating level was taken from the mature 5 year old whisky. Maturation is in first-fill bourbon, rye and American virgin oak casks.
The nose offers baking spices, burnt honey and espresso, with hazelnuts, smoked almonds and butterscotch. On the palate come sweet peat, rich chocolate and heather honey, with cinnamon, ginger and oak-smoked sugar.
