Meikle Toir The Sherry One is a peated single malt from GlenAllachie, in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry puncheons, and the peat is set at 35ppm after a long fermentation of 160 hours.
The sherry casks bring rich, fruity notes that sit alongside gentle peat smoke.
The nose is cedar wood and cigar box with butterscotch, mocha and orange peel, plus hints of honey and plum jam. On the palate come dark chocolate, smoked honey and mocha, then fig syrup, treacle and burnt sugar, with puffs of peat smoke in the finish.
