The Sinteis Series: Part III is a cask-strength Glenallachie single malt, bottled at 57.4% ABV. It continues the distillery's experimental series, overseen by Billy Walker, in which different woods are deliberately combined. Sinteis is Gaelic for synthesis.
For this part the whisky matured in French virgin oak from Limousin and in Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers honeycomb, orange zest and muscovado sugar, with maraschino cherries, mocha and nutmeg. The palate is creamy, with dark toffee, cocoa, dried apricots and spiced oak. The finish is long and warming, with chocolate and dark fruit.
