Glendalough 7 Year Old is an Irish single malt bottled at 46%, finished in a Mizunara cask made from wood sourced in Hokkaido, Japan.
Vanilla, fudge and honey come from the bourbon cask, while the Mizunara adds dark chocolate orange, sandalwood and cinnamon.
The nose is vibrant, fruity and floral. The palate is fresh and citrusy with orchard fruits, a smooth mouthfeel and biscuity malt throughout. The finish is very long, with toasted oak and spices, and the dark chocolate lingers longer still.
