This is a 14 year old single cask Glendronach, distilled in 1994 and released in 2009 during Billy Walker's tenure. It was matured in an Oloroso puncheon and bottled at 58.5% ABV, with 596 bottles made.
The nose brings smoke, leather and hints of tea. The palate opens with rich sherry, then oak and plenty of spice, including cinnamon, ginger and black pepper, with a layer of smoke. The finish is warming, with lingering spices and a hint of heat, ending on dark chocolate.
