GlenDronach – 18 Years Old (70cl)

GlenDronach 18 Years Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery founded in 1826, which is known for maturing its whisky in sherry casks. This bottling, sometimes called Allardice, spends all 18 years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks from Andalucía, Spain. It is bottled at natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose brings sweet Oloroso, dark treacle and stewed orchard fruit, with toasted almond, cocoa and a little leather. On the palate come dark chocolate, espresso and dried figs, then black cherry, sultanas and candied orange peel, with nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is long, with dark fruit cake, sweet sherry and a dry, warming spice.
