GlenDronach – Master Vintage 1993 25 Year Old (48.2%)

This is a 25 year old GlenDronach Highland single malt, the Master Vintage 1993, made from sherry casks laid down in 1993. Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks from that year were hand-selected for it, and the whisky is bottled at 48.2%. It is non-chill-filtered and takes its colour naturally from the Spanish oak. The nose offers brandy-laced fruitcake and marzipan over smoked walnut and toasted sultana bread. On the palate come cocoa-dusted coffee, sultana brioche, baked orange rind and prune. The finish is long and velvety, with cocoa, dates and pecan toffee.
