Glenrothes 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. The distillery was founded in 1879.
The whisky spent 18 years in sherry-seasoned oak casks, with a high proportion of first-fill casks. The spirit was distilled in tall-necked copper pot stills and matured in cool, damp dunnage warehouses.
The nose is vanilla, orange peel and mature oak, with fresh ginger and nutmeg underneath. On the palate come sweet vanilla, candied orange, toasted almonds and sherry, with gentle spice. The finish is long, with spiced fruits, sweet oak and a soft sherry note.
