A Highland single malt from Glenwyvis, a distillery run entirely by people from its local community and described on the label as 100% community-owned. This is Batch 02/18, in a 70cl bottle at 46.5% ABV.
The whisky was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2022, after maturing in an ex-Tennessee, ex-Oloroso refill hogshead. It was bottled in a run of 8000 bottles.
The nose is fresh, with young fruit, gooseberry, a hint of honey and vanilla. The palate stays lively, with green apple, honey, grapes and pepper. The finish is rather short, with a touch of chocolate and vanilla.
