Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Bourbon GlenAllachie 14 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

This is a 14 year old GlenAllachie single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle under the Discovery label from Gordon & MacPhail. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks, and the colour is a pale, lightest gold. The Discovery range is arranged around three flavour profiles, Sherry, Smoky and Bourbon, and this bottle sits in the Bourbon group. The nose offers perfumed green apple, dried banana and lime zest, with soft milk chocolate, salted almonds and vanilla pod. On the palate it is creamy, with custard, lemon posset and malted biscuit, then blossom honey and subtle white pepper. The finish is medium-bodied with spice.
