Green Spot Château Léoville Barton is a single pot still Irish whiskey produced at Midleton Distillery, in a 75cl bottle. It is finished in wine casks.
Maturation begins in ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The whiskey then spends a further 12 to 24 months in French oak casks that previously held Château Léoville Barton Bordeaux wine.
The nose brings woodland notes, floral aromas, ripe berries, orchard fruits and pot-still spice. On the palate come vanilla sweetness, dry orchard fruits, barley, French oak and warming spices, with a subtle red-wine influence. The finish is long and warming, with French oak fading into lingering wine character and spice.
