An Irish whiskey in a 70cl bottle, made as a collaboration between Midleton Distillery, Mitchell & Son and Napa Valley's Chateau Montelena.
It was first matured in sherry and bourbon casks, then finished for 12 months in French oak Zinfandel wine casks from the Californian winery.
The nose brings vanilla, white chocolate, red apples, pears, pomegranate, cranberries and maraschino cherries. The palate is silky and mouth-coating, with citrus zest, ripe orchard fruit, pot still spices, toasted oak and a hint of marzipan. The finish is long and balanced, with soft wine tannins and lingering spice.
