Hakushu – 12 Year Old Single Malt (70cl, 43%)

This is a Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery, made from malt whiskies matured for at least twelve years. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The selection of aged spirits keeps the fruit and the green, herbal note that is typical of Hakushu, alongside a fresh, lightly smoky character. The smoke stays soft and restrained. On the nose it is described as herbal and fruity, with basil, pine needles and green apple, along with young leaves and jasmine. The palate pairs sweet pear and kiwi with mint, and the finish carries green tea and a subtle trace of smoke.
