This is an 18 year old single malt from the Hakushu distillery in Japan, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It is a malty, fruity whisky, with rounded fruit and cereal flavours and a well-defined character. Some drinkers find it reminiscent of fine Irish pot still whisky.
On the nose there is orange, pear and a dry smokiness, along with a fruit salad note. The palate is sweet like patisserie, with baked goods. The finish is long and fruity, with Manuka honey and a subtle smokiness.
