A cream sherry from Jerez, Spain, bottled at 17.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Harvey's, a firm with roots in Bristol in 1796, blends it from around fifty separate soleras.
The blend brings together dry Fino, aged Amontillado, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. The base grapes are mainly Palomino and Pedro Ximénez, and the wine is fortified with young Jerez brandy.
The nose is candied orange and orange rind with caramel, toasted almonds and dried fruit. The palate is creamy, with toffee, raisin and gentle nuttiness, and the Pedro Ximénez sweetness is held in check by the drier components. The finish is medium and silky, with toffee, orange zest and a dry, nutty close.
