Hatozaki 12 Year Old Umeshu Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Hatozaki 12 Year Old Umeshu Cask Finish is a Japanese blended malt from the Kaikyo distillery in Hyogo. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration. The blend is made from single malts aged for 12 years in American oak casks. After blending, it spends a further six months in casks that previously held umeshu, the Japanese plum liqueur. The official notes describe a rich cereal character with iodine, fresh pear, apricot and a hint of malty honey. The finish brings a lasting sweetness of yellow plum.
