Hatozaki Small Batch Pure Malt (75cl, 46%)

Hatozaki Small Batch Pure Malt is a 46% ABV Japanese malt whisky from Kaikyo Distillery in Akashi, in a 750ml bottle. Each batch is vatted from fewer than 20 casks of malt aged between five and six years, matured in ex-bourbon barrels, ex-sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. The vatting includes Japanese-distilled malt and Scottish malt aged further in Japan. It is neither chill-filtered nor artificially coloured. The nose has dried fruit, sweet malt, honey, incense and sandalwood. The palate is malty and creamy, with toasted cereal, spice, vanilla, lemon peel and a nutty note. The finish is medium to long, with light smoke, honey and cigar-box dryness.
