Hatozaki Pure Malt (46%)

Hatozaki Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt from the Kaikyo Distillery, bottled at 46%. It is made entirely from malt whiskies, some distilled in Japan and some imported, blended from single malts aged five to six years. The whisky has spent several years in ex-bourbon casks, ex-sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara casks, and it is made in small batches of fewer than 20 casks. It is unpeated, and it is never coloured or chill-filtered. The style is round and generous, with sweet malted grain and dried fruit, a light smoky undertone and a honeyed finish.
