Heaven Hill – 9 Year Old Bottled in Bond Double Mash Wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

This is a nine-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Heaven Hill, bottled in bond at 100 proof in a 75cl bottle. It is a Double Mash release, which joins two mashbills in one bottle. Two-thirds of the whisky comes from a traditional mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley. The remaining third comes from a wheated mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. Both parts were aged for nine years and bottled to the standards of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Together they are described as layered and balanced, with the structure of traditional bourbon alongside the softer, rounder character of wheat.
