Hibiki 12 Year Old is a blended Japanese whisky from House of Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It combines malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, with the blend shaped by American, Spanish and Japanese Mizunara oak. This travel exclusive limited edition was reimagined by fifth-generation Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo. Its bottle and packaging draw on Kacho-Fugetsu, the Japanese appreciation of flowers, birds, wind and moon, with cherry blossoms and flowing water. The nose offers persimmon, jasmine, cardamom, orange and sandalwood. Spiced orange peel, toasted cinnamon and butterscotch lead the palate, and the finish is long, with gentle spice and Mizunara wood.
