Hibiki 30 Year Old Kacho Fugetsu Limited Edition (70cl, 43%)

This is Hibiki 30 Year Old Kacho Fugetsu, a limited edition Japanese blended whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Hibiki blends malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's distilleries. The name means "resonance" in Japanese, and the 24 facets of the bottle reflect the 24 seasons of the traditional calendar. The colour is amber. The nose brings plum in syrup, roses and a sweet woodiness, and the palate turns to orange marmalade and dark chocolate with a slight bitterness. The finish is long, with sweetness, acidity, spice and wood.
