High West – Cask Collection Petite Sirah Finish Bourbon (50%)

This is a High West Cask Collection release, a blend of straight bourbon and straight rye whiskeys aged between 6 and 10 years. The blend is then finished for seven months in French oak casks that previously held Petite Sirah wine, and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). The finishing adds deep, jammy fruit and a thick mouthfeel alongside the sweet, spicy whiskey underneath. The nose offers spiced blackberry jam, graham cracker and a touch of bay leaf. The palate brings dark plum, Concord grape and cinnamon, and the finish is long, with dried cherry, toasted oak and sweet tobacco.
