This is a 10 year old Highland Park bottled by Gleann Mor Spirits, an independent bottler based in Edinburgh. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2020 at 50%, after ten years in a refill ex-Manzanilla sherry butt. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is deep and brooding, with leather, toasted raisins, walnuts, smouldering campfire, clove-studded ham and a touch of mocha. On the palate, nuttiness runs through hazelnuts and chocolate-covered Brazil nuts, alongside Christmas cake, sherry-soaked cranberries and espresso. The finish is robust and earthy, with dark chocolate, black tea and sticky raisins.
