This is a Highland Park 12 Year Old single malt from Kirkwall on Orkney, released in 2000 to mark the millennium. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.7%, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is bold yet delicate and fresh, with flowers and a good deal of smoke before the spice arrives: nutmeg, fresh ginger and cinnamon, with dill, parsley and wet moss behind. The palate is creamy, with liquorice, smoke and pepper, and the finish is creamy and coating, mainly on liquorice.
