This Highland Park is a 12 year old single cask single malt from Orkney, bottled for Hermann Brothers at 65.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2020.
The whisky matured in a first fill American oak sherry puncheon, cask number 4008, which yielded 624 bottles intended solely for the Swiss market.
The nose offers pickled strawberries, cherries and raspberries, then salted caramel and light menthol smoke. The palate is soft yet powerful, starting sweet with dark forest honey and green tea, followed by mint, lemon zest and traces of smoke. The finish is long and creamy, with spiced maple syrup and a little malt.
