This Highland Park single malt was bottled independently by Thompson Bros, with 2005 in its name. It is bottled at 54.1% in a 70cl bottle.
Highland Park was founded in 1798 in Kirkwall on Orkney and is the northernmost distillery in Scotland. Orkney peat is quite unlike Islay peat, and a much-quoted heather sweetness is counted among the whisky's basic flavours.
The distillery takes its water from a spring at a lower elevation, Cattie Maggie's Quarry.
