Highland Park 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch from Orkney, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. The distillery uses locally sourced Orkney peat, which is rich in heather, and this gives the smoke a floral, aromatic character.
On the nose there is heather honey, dried citrus peel, vanilla and gentle peat smoke with a touch of sea air. The palate brings sweet malt, orange zest, baking spices and toasted oak, and the finish is medium to long with oak spice, soft smoke and honeyed sweetness.
