Highland Park 15 Year Old is an Orkney single malt bottled at 44% ABV. It was reintroduced in 2021 as Viking Heart in an embossed ceramic bottle, moved to glass in 2023, and took a simpler bottle in 2024 with the name Complex & Rich.
It combines whisky from first-fill sherry-seasoned American and European oak, plus a small share of refill casks. The American oak gives vanilla sweetness and the European oak adds spice, with a gentle peat smoke running through.
The nose is fresh and floral with spice. Vanilla, pineapple and zesty citrus lead the palate. The finish is mellow, with vanilla, toasty spice and a hint of heathery peat smoke.
