This is a 15 year old single malt from Highland Park, bottled at 44% in a 70cl ceramic decanter. The Viking Heart release is a nod to the distillery's Nordic ancestry and its Orkney home.
The whisky was matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, which bring together sweetness, spice and a gentle smokiness.
The nose is honey, dried fruit and citrus zest. On the palate come creamy vanilla, warm spices and toasted oak, with a thin thread of peat smoke running through. The finish is long and smooth.
