The fourth and final bottling in Highland Park's Valhalla Collection, named Odin and matured for 16 years in first-fill sherry casks and refill hogsheads. It is bottled at 55.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 17,000 bottles.
Odin is a rich, dark whisky with the distillery's sweet and gently peaty character, and a deep gold colour.
The nose has sherried raisins soaked in kirsch, nutmeg, fruitcake with dates and figs, charcoal and pipe smoke. The palate is hot and spicy, with cumin, pepper, bitter orange and ginger. The finish is rather long, peppery and slightly salty and smoky.
