Highland Park 16 Year Old Sea of Orkney is a single malt from Orkney, bottled at 44.5% in a 70cl bottle. It matures in first-fill and refill sherry casks made from European and American oak, in the even, mild climate that the Gulf Stream brings to the islands. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is spiced and warm. On the palate creamy vanilla meets nutmeg, with soft smoke from Orkney heather peat. The finish is long, nutty and sweet, with almonds and brown sugar.
