A Highland Park single malt from Orkney, distilled in 1958 and matured for 17 years before it was bottled in 1975. This official bottling was made for the Italian market, holds 75cl at 43% and still has its neck tag.
The nose is big, oily, peaty and dry, with grassy notes of fresh walnuts and hay, linseed oil and a little smoke. On the palate it turns sweet and slightly syrupy, with crystallised oranges, kumquats, peat and soft spices. The finish is long, drier and maltier, with ginger and tannins.
