This is an official Highland Park from Orkney, distilled in 1958 and matured for 18 years before it was bottled in 1976. It is in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV and still has its neck tag.
The nose is dry and distinctive, with linseed oil, linoleum, cough syrup, dry honey, dates, peat, sea breeze and a little tar, along with marzipan and bitter oranges. The palate is spicy and honeyed, with peat and salt over dried pineapple, figs and bananas, plus leather and oranges. The finish is quite long, with honey, fresh oranges and soft, sweet spice, and a faint liquorice bitterness in the aftertaste.
