This Highland Park was bottled to mark the retirement of company chairman John Goodwin. It was bottled at 35 years old, the length of time Goodwin spent with the company, at cask strength (50% ABV) in October 1997, two months before he retired. The label shows a G in place of the usual H. The nose is led by old leather, cigar humidor and nutmeg, then ginger, heather honey, cedar wood, Virginia tobacco, camphor and eucalyptus. The palate is spicy, with dried fruits, ginger, cinnamon, kumquats, liquorice, pistachios, figs, prunes and mirabelles, and the oak is clearly present. The finish is long and gingery, with yellow chartreuse and mirabelle eau-de-vie.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
