This is the 2020 release of Highland Park 21 Year Old, a single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It has been maturing in cask since 1998.
Three cask types go into the vatting: a first-fill sherry hogshead, ex-bourbon casks and refill casks. Together they give a rich, full character.
In the glass it is described as sun-ripened oranges, fresh ginger and vanilla cream, with heather honey and aromatic peat smoke. Toasted oak lingers in the finish.
