Highland Park – Cask Strength Release No. 1 (70cl, 63.3%)

This is the first Cask Strength release from Highland Park, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 63.3%. It was bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration, so the natural colour is kept. The whisky was matured mainly in sherry-seasoned American oak casks of differing ages, chosen by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. The nose is sweet and smoky, with violets, ripe vanilla pods and aromatic peat smoke. The palate is rich and full, with soft toffee, heather honey, fresh nutmeg and citrus fruit. The finish is long, with crème brûlée and exotic spice.
