Highland Park – Cask Strength Release No. 2 (70cl, 63.9%)

This is the second release in Highland Park's Cask Strength series, bottled at 63.9% in a 70cl bottle. It comes straight from the cask with no water added to lower the strength. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion chose mainly sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, with a few ex-bourbon casks alongside them. The nose offers roasted chestnuts, pear drops, earthy smoke and a hint of caraway. On the palate come spicy peat and a touch of salted liquorice, with thick honey, crisp red apple and cassia. The finish carries almond, chocolate, red chilli flakes and oak.
