A single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2011 at 54.9% ABV after eighteen years of maturation. It is the third and last edition of the Inga Saga Trilogy, inspired by Earl Hakon, a figure from Orkney's Viking history. 3,300 bottles were released.
The nose has honey, dried fruit and sweet malt with vanilla, warm spices and toasted oak, and heather and light smoke behind. The palate is full and intense, with honey, caramel, ripe dried fruit, spicy oak and cinnamon, and peat smoke set against the sweeter notes. The finish is long and warming, with sweet malt, honey and spicy oak, the smoke staying quiet.
