Highland Park Heather is a cask strength single malt from Orkney, bottled at 63.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in first-fill seasoned sherry casks and refill casks, and it is non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The name refers to the heather of the islands, which gives the peat its aromatic smokiness.
The nose is smoky heather, honey, vanilla and dried fruit, with spicy oak. The palate is powerful, with peat smoke, caramel, dark fruit, spice and oak, plus a little citrus and honeyed sweetness. The finish is long and warm, with smoke, spice and gentle sweetness.
