Highland Park Sigurd is the fourth bottling in the six-part Warrior Series, launched in February 2013. It is a limited edition single malt without an age statement, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Colouring has been added and it is chill-filtered.
It was matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The name is the Norse form of Siegfried, a figure from the Orkney Saga, and the sword on the label is Gram, belonging to Sigurd the dragon slayer.
The nose offers fresh hay, syrup sponge cake, caramelised pineapple and aromatic smoke. The palate has sweet lemon peel, spicy cinnamon, oak and a little lavender. The finish is spicy smoke with lingering dusty wood.
