Highland Park – Single Cask Series Gorm den Gamle 18 Year Old (53.9%)

This is an 18 year old single cask Highland Park, matured in a refill hogshead and bottled at 53.9% ABV. Only 249 bottles were filled. It belongs to a series of single cask whiskies created for Denmark and its whisky enthusiasts. The name comes from Gorm den Gamle, the first king of Denmark, who raised the Little Jelling Stone for his wife, Thyra Danebod. The colour is described as a sunset hue. Vanilla pod, honey, oak and a little smoke come through on the nose, while the palate is sweet vanilla and oak with full honey and fruit. The finish is long and pleasant.
