Highland Park Valfather is a single malt from Orkney, bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It completes the Viking Legend trilogy and is dedicated to Odin, the Norse father of the gods. Jim Lyngvild, a descendant of the Vikings, designed the packaging, as he did for the two earlier releases.
Some fully peated malt went into the trilogy, and Valfather has a pronounced peat aroma. It is intense and balanced.
On the palate come creamy crème brûlée, toasted cedar wood and fiery paprika, with crisp apple and sweet, fragrant pear. Floral smoke lingers in the finish.
