Highland Park Viking Tribe is a single malt from the Highland Park distillery on Orkney, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. After the casks are married, the whisky rests for at least a month in a special cask before it is reduced to strength with natural spring water.
Master Distiller Gordon Motion aimed for an approachable malt with full, weighty flavour on the palate. The label takes its inspiration from Viking artwork found in the Urnes stave church in Norway.
The nose offers butterscotch, floral barley, salted butter and a hint of sandalwood. The palate brings orange peel and honey, then peppery peat with apricot and clove. The finish is soft smoke.
