Holyrood Distillery – Embra Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Embra is a peated single malt from Holyrood Distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It balances smoky flavours with rich textures and is described as a good first step into peat that still has the smoky depth peat drinkers look for. The spirit is made with a range of yeasts: two distillers strains, three brewers yeasts and two wine yeasts. The nose is lemon zest, horse chestnut pith, hints of peppermint and light hickory smoke. The palate brings wafer biscuits, dark chocolate mousse and earthy peat smoke, and the finish is clean and well rounded with light stewed pears.
