Holyrood Distillery – Embra Single Malt (70cl, 43.6%)

Embra is a peated single malt from Holyrood Distillery in Edinburgh, bottled at 43.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's second single malt release and its first smoky one. The whisky was matured in a mix of casks: mostly first-fill bourbon, some quarter casks that previously held smoky Islay whisky, and a small share of virgin American oak. The label design is based on a linocut inspired by images of St Leonard, the patron saint of coopers, who gives his name to the area where the distillery stands.
