Hooten Young 12 Years Old is an American corn whiskey from the veteran-owned Hooten Young brand, part of its Made to Remember series. It was distilled by MGP in Indiana and aged for 12 years in second-fill barrels. It is bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV).
The mash bill is 99% corn and 1% barley. The spirit was distilled to 189 proof and barrelled at 140 proof.
The nose is vanilla, maple syrup and ripe apple, with hints of soft floral or candy-like notes. The palate starts with sweet corn, apple, honey and brown sugar, with pear and cherry coming through in the middle. The finish is smooth and lingering, with vanilla sugar, baking spice and gentle oak.
