Hyde No.4 President's Cask Rum Finish Irish Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Hyde No.4 President's Cask is an Irish single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or added colour. It is made from malted Irish barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills at a single Irish distillery. The whiskey first matured in charred ex-bourbon oak casks from Kentucky, then spent a further six months in charred 200-litre casks that previously held dark Barbados rum. It is released in small batches, with each bottle individually numbered. The nose brings toffee, cinnamon and sultanas together with a strong rum aroma, nutty sweetness, porridge, barley, caramelised sugar and tropical fruit. On the palate it is soft and spicy, with bittersweet vanilla, toffee, apricot and chocolate. The finish shows the rum clearly, with dark nuts and spice.
