Hyde No. 8 Heritage Cask Stout Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

This is an Irish blended whiskey from Hyde, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle without chill-filtration. It is a triple-distilled edition limited to 5,000 bottles. The blend is 75% single grain, matured entirely in charred first-fill bourbon casks, and 25% single malt from toasted first-fill oloroso sherry casks. It was then finished for six months in American white oak ex-bourbon casks that had first held stout from the Cotton Ball Craft Brewery in Cork for three months. The nose is full of malt with sweet vanilla and roasted coffee beans. The palate brings sweet biscuit, a hoppy note and roasted coffee. The finish is long, soft and creamy, with sweet caramel.
