Indri 11 Year Old Founder's Reserve is an Indian single malt released as a tribute to the distillery's founder, Pt. Kidar Nath Sharma. It was matured fully in ex-Bordeaux red wine casks and bottled at cask strength, in an edition of 1,100 bottles.
The wine's jammy influence sits alongside the spiced character of the malt. It is deep mahogany in colour, thick and oily in texture. Black cherry, red plum and dark berries lead the nose, with vanilla and oak. The palate brings bramble berries, guava, nutmeg, ginger and milk chocolate, and the finish is long and gently drying, with stewed oranges and a hint of eucalyptus.
