This is a 16 year old GlenAllachie, a Speyside single malt bottled by Inverdarach Editions at 54.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in May 2008 and bottled in June 2024. The whisky matured in an ex-Islay hogshead.
The nose offers spiced apple, plums baked in brown sugar, bitter chocolate fondant and a suggestion of smoke. On the palate come smouldering heather, pipe tobacco, ripe cherries and a hint of salty breeze. The finish is complex, with more dark chocolate and dried fruit.
